Tonight we held an online ritual to dedicate Nova Aedes Iani to Janus and Hekate.
I really wanted to blog more about August as I went, but there were server problems (Hex.ink is self-hosted), and I had to move the whole shebang, and then there were more problems. But now it's up and running again, so here's my summary of my horror consumption for August 2020:
The Seventh Gate
The Turn of the Screw
House on Haunted Hill (remake)
Lovecraft Country, ep 1
Lovecraft Country, ep 2
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
Cabin in the Woods
The Haunting in Connecticut
The Windrow-Ravenswood Deck book, by Dmitri Arbacauskas
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (abandoned)
The Revenge of the Wizard's Ghost by John Bellairs
Locke & Key: Small World by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez
Locke & Key: Dog Days by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez
Locke & Key: In Pale Battaltions Go #1 by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez
The Atrocity Archives by Charles Stross (started)
The NoSleep Podcast
The Magnus Archives
Shadows at the Door
Within the Wires
All in all, not bad.
I made the mistake at the beginning of the month of saying out loud that August was so much better these days, how I didn't feel untethered, ungrounded, disconnected... so instead of having those problems, August dumped a metric ton of practical problems on my head in the space of about two weeks. Not gonna go into it here, I think, but it's mostly cleaned up now.
If the blog looks a little weird, it's because of the move. If you can't find one of my apps, it's because they're not up and running yet. Soon.
